It’s perfectly understandable for parents to be concerned about the safety of their children when it comes to X-rays, but due to the constant changes that occur during growth, kids often require them more frequently than adults. The good news is that pediatric dentists like me are trained to take precautions with children such as:

  • Using lead aprons to avoid exposure to other parts of the body
  • Using high-speed film to minimize the amount of radiation exposure
  • Limiting the number of X-rays taken

If you are still not convinced of the safety of X-rays, share your concerns with me at your next visit. Your child’s overall health is just as important to me as their dental health.
